The business world is evolving as technology helps organisations achieve efficiency and accuracy. South African payroll and HR software innovator PaySpace is at the tip of this evolution, helping customers modernise and streamline their payroll operations to become a strategic part of operations and employee support.
This drive has resulted in two prestigious awards. On June 8, the Global Payroll Awards recognised PaySpace in two major categories; stacked against global competition, they qualified into three categories and won awards for two:
● Payroll Innovation Award 2023, and
● Payroll Consultant of the Year 2023.
These awards follow PaySpace’s win in 2019 as Payroll Software Supplier of the Year (the first African business to win this award). Joining the ceremony hosted at The National Museum of Scotland in historic Edinburgh, PaySpace Co-founder and Shareholder Warren van Wyk accepted the awards.
“What an honour to accept these rewards on behalf of our team. We’re in the business of innovation- it’s at the heart of what we do. Recognition on a global stage is testament that our tech delivers the innovation we strive for.”
The Global Payroll Association’s Global Payroll Awards, established in 2016, celebrate and reward technical excellence, professional development and teamwork within the global payroll industry.
The first award, Payroll Innovation Award 2023, focuses on Pacey, a first-to-market WhatsApp employee self-service feature that integrates with payroll and HR tasks. Self-service features enabled through Pacey mean that employees can access their historical payslips in PDF or text format, submit claims, apply for leave, view their personal information, and request their tax certificate. This feature bypasses the cumbersome nature of email and enables access to all staff.
The second award, Payroll Consultant of the Year 2023, recognises the work and worth of Justin Grove, PaySpace’s Senior Implementation Consultant. Justin’s extensive knowledge and expertise in African legislation and compliance help lead world-class teams implementing and innovating for our customers. He is also instrumental in ensuring Payspace deploys successfully on large multinational enterprise projects across multiple African countries.
“The PaySpace platform enables many organisations to modernise their payroll and HR functions, reducing task burdens on administrators, giving financial and HR leaders valuable insight, and making it easier for employees to self-access HR processes. It’s a powerful paradigm but one that needs to convince the market with its features and expertise. These two awards underscores both those areas and show that we are delivering a gamechanger to our customers, built on the hard work and dedication of PaySpace’s people. They all played a role in reaching this milestone,” says Sanda Crous, PaySpace’s Managing Director.
